If You Want To Be A Hall-Of-Fame Quarterback, Just Throw To Davante Adams – Fantasy Games Won (FGW) Week 13 Update

What is FGW? Go back to the shadows, I mean Go Back To Week 1.

Short Version – FGW is the likely number of Head-to-Head fantasy football matchups a player has won his team. dFGW is FGW adjusted for ADP.

For those following along with FGW since 2021 – or those who owned Davante Adams last year – you know he was almost the MVP fantasy football last year. Cooper Kupp was better in the regular season, Ja’Marr Chase was better in the playoffs, but Davante came through super hard in both parts of teh year.

On the Fantom Sports Fantasy podcast back between Week 10 and Week 11, I asked host Branden Timm whether he would want Justin Jefferson or Stefon Diggs the rest of the way. At the time, I thought that was a effectively the same question as asking “Who’s your WR1 for the rest of the season?”

I was clearly disrespecting Davante.

Who Won The Week?

  • Davante should be Fantasy Football’s Mr. December at this point. Last year he averaged 24.0 half-PPR Fantasy PPG (HPPRFPPG) from Week 14 to 17. And this year he’s average 25.8 HPPRFPPG since Week 9.
  • Default first name spelling leaders: Davante over DeVonta, Jalen over Jaylen.
  • The Brown Brothers – not these guys, I mean AJ and Amon-Ra – made owners very happy this week with their Terrell Owens impressions. I wouldn’t want to cover them with a…nickelback.
  • Tyreek “Tiny Dancer” Hill took up all the production from the rest of the start-able Dolphins..
  • Christian McCaffrey is still Purdy good.
  • How was Cleveland only started in 55% of leagues? Against the Texans! At 100% started they would have been the top FGW performer this week.
  • That Jeff Wilson dud really came out of nowhere. He was looking like a potential league-winner for a bit there.
  • I keep referencing a video most people probably didn’t watch. I’ll stop, but before I do, look at this photograph:
Every time I do it makes me laugh. Not sure about Junior, though. He’s not laughing this week.

Leaderboard Update

  • It’s been a while since we’ve had a big Stefon Diggs game. Allen and Diggs fell off a bit as Kelce and Mahomes really came on the scene.
  • Don’t look now but Jalen Hurts is hot on the heels of Mahomes for QB1.
  • After picking up mid season, the first/second round RBs have cooled off a bit. Ekeler down to 6th overall, Henry and Chubb with off weeks.
  • Nobody making a move to get off the Dak Prescott list in Week 13. Expected SOMETHING from Brady or Diontae.
  • The Josh Jacobs party might be over of the Raiders are going to go in the tank. The 2021 Cooper Kupp party was cooler, anyway.

Website Exclusives

  • Been a weird year if you picked up Taysom Hill after Week 1. You either held onto him, probably belaboring whether to start him or Dawson Knox every week, or dropped him and couldn’t stomach watching Saints where he kept showing up in the red zone offense.
  • Christian Watson is geared up to be one of the ultimate “I will never draft him again” fantasy players if he drops some playoff duds. He’s only up to 60% started despite 7 TDs in 4 weeks, will probably go up around 80% for Week 14, and will probably not keep scoring TDs. We all know this is coming.
  • If you started a Dynasty league in 2021, hopefully your first round pick was either Austin Ekeler or Davante Adams.
  • And if you took Kyle Pitts, maybe you can get Bijan Robinson to make up for it.

The Full List

  • Thanks to Amon-Ra showing life in the Round 6 contingent, it’s actually looking like Round 4 may have been as bad as Round 10, with almost nobody to help you all season.

Gotta go, I have to work on my Santa, Grinch, and Cold Miser impressions to prepare for a few rehearsals of Daddy’s Got Talent. For those of you that thought you were receiving an early Christmas gift when the likes of Courtland Sutton and Cam Akers fell to you in rounds 5 and 6, just remember that we’re all going down in this ship together. It’s been a privilege and an honor.

Good look in Week 14!
