Fantasy Games Won (FGW) 2024 MVP & Season Awards

For the last several years, I’ve been disappointed that the NFL killed the trophy processional. Awkward as it was, the song was amazing, and watching the players kiss the trophy was a chance to see the people we actually care about (i.e. not the owners) bask in the win.

Let’s compensate for this by making the Lombardi Trophy Processional the official music of the FGW Awards! So please have that sone on repeat while you read this post.

What is Rankings Accord? Fantasy Games Won (FGW) Week 2 Prelude

Since the beginning of the Fantasy Games Won blog series, it has been a fully retrospective post. The idea is the commiserate on the absurdity that Fantasy Football often is – to put into context the voodoo-like nature of “every time I bench James Cook, he goes off!” laments from Fantasy Football managers.

That conformity ends this week. Now, I will try to help you win fantasy football matchups. Try.

A Decade Ago I Started Mocking “Devy” Drafts – Here’s How 2020 Went

Devy League:
A Fantasy League Where You Draft "Developmental/Devy" Players, i.e. players that are not yet declared for the NFL Draft

If you want to go back to beyond “a decade ago” – see here for the 2012 opening piece. Picking up the pace here as I only published the most recent one last week!

To bring everyone up to speed…

We’re less than 2 months away from the 2024 NFL Season and – more importantly – Fantasy Games Won Season 4!

Fantasy Games Won (FGW) 2023 MVP & Season Awards

It’s time to bring the 2023 season to a close.

Here’s the plan: Do a run-through on Fantasy Championships Won, somehow don’t undermine the whole concept of FGW, and then announce the winners. Simple, right?

Najee Makes a Final Push for Least Valuable Player – Fantasy Games Won (FGW) Week 14 Update

Sometimes, you just need to know when to quit a player.

In 2022, Fantasy Football Least Valuable Player Tom Brady saw his percent started rate drop to 14% in Week 14 and Week 15.

Meanwhile, Najee Harris is in line to win LVP in 2023. His percent started rate has never dropped below 53% on non-bye weeks in his entire career, despite scoring under 10 fantasy points (half-ppr) in 17 of his last 35 games. Not only that, he has scored under 5 points four separate times in 2023 (Weeks 1, 2, 5, and 11) and hasn’t had a 20 point game since Week 11 of 2022.

That chart had nothing to do with Najee, or Hurts, for that matter.

Tyreek Hill is Leaving Even McCaffrey in the Dust – Fantasy Games Won (FGW) Week 13 Update

Week 13 had a good number of stud performances that helped fantasy teams far and wide. Familiar faces were there, like Tyreek and Ceedee. We also had some unfamiliar faces that aren’t as easily ID’d by first name, like Michael (Pittman) and Evan (Engram).

Week 13 would have been an excellent week for fantasy if not for one pesky reality of Fantasy Football – injuries. Most prominently injured may be the first name that, while new, we all recognize already – Tank.

Not just reacting to the red helmets
