It’s time to bring the 2023 season to a close.
Here’s the plan: Do a run-through on Fantasy Championships Won, somehow don’t undermine the whole concept of FGW, and then announce the winners. Simple, right?

We’ve entered a new phase of the fantasy season – the playoffs.
No special post for the blog this week, but here are links to all the key spots:

In 2022, Fantasy Football Least Valuable Player Tom Brady saw his percent started rate drop to 14% in Week 14 and Week 15.
Meanwhile, Najee Harris is in line to win LVP in 2023. His percent started rate has never dropped below 53% on non-bye weeks in his entire career, despite scoring under 10 fantasy points (half-ppr) in 17 of his last 35 games. Not only that, he has scored under 5 points four separate times in 2023 (Weeks 1, 2, 5, and 11) and hasn’t had a 20 point game since Week 11 of 2022.
Week 13 had a good number of stud performances that helped fantasy teams far and wide. Familiar faces were there, like Tyreek and Ceedee. We also had some unfamiliar faces that aren’t as easily ID’d by first name, like Michael (Pittman) and Evan (Engram).
Week 13 would have been an excellent week for fantasy if not for one pesky reality of Fantasy Football – injuries. Most prominently injured may be the first name that, while new, we all recognize already – Tank.
Check this out…
If you graded 2023 fantasy players on a curve, where 0% is last place in FGW, and 100% is 1st place in FGW, you’d have two main competitors for valedictorian: Tyreek Hill (A+) and Christian McCaffrey (A, 97%).
Not only does nobody else get an A, but nobody else gets a B. Or even a C+.
It’s the classic line – “of course, because I started him, he did poorly” or “of course, because I benched him, he went off”. This week might actually be the worst example of that behavior that I can remember…
What is FGW? Check out the full lowdown here or watch the video here.
TL;DR – FGW is the number of Head-to-Head fantasy football matchups a player has won his team, on average. dFGW is FGW adjusted for draft ADP rank.
Can you take me higher?
Creed (probably)
To a place where QBs read…

To a place with full route trees…
C.J. Stroud scored more fantasy points in Week 9 than any other QB has scored in a week thus far in 2023 (using typical scoring systems). Stroud didn’t completely come out of nowhere, either, a la De’Von “4Chan” Achane in Week 3.
But in case you haven’t figured it out from the helmet in the video thumbnail below, or from the on-the-nose title, another fantasy asset led Week 9. One that we did not expect.

You know who we haven’t talked about as much in 2023 as we have in previous years? Travis Kelce.
Not referring to in pop culture – obviously, he’s at an all-time high there due to the fact that Taylor Swift is like the most famous person in the world now – but specifically in Fantasy Games Won.
The Travis Kelce “silence” comes to an end today.
